Price List for Backflow Testing:
These are our standard prices assuming the device is easily accessible and the test can be performed during regular business hours. For a price for testing after hours, please call. We do offer bulk discounts for commercial accounts, please call us for a special price.
We also recommend if you have a pool with an autofil and it has a backflow preventer, testing that device as well to ensure the pool water cannot get into the drinking water.
Please note that additional charges may result if the backflow is not reasonably accessible. In the event we must perform labor to simply be able to access the device (IE finding and digging it up, removing dirt from around devices buried underground in order to access the test ports, or having to work with abnormal above ground (non-approved) enclosures). We charge per minute of extra labor performed in addition to the prices below. This is to be fair to all customers and to avoid charging extra for those whose backflows are located below ground, but are easily accessible for testing purposes. 85% of the backflows we test are easily accessible as required per code.
First off, we would like to thank all of our loyal customers whom have been with us thru the years. We are undergoing a re-branding for our backflow prevention services to appeal more toward commercial customers and grow our backflow prevention business, as such, we have changed the name we are listed under on the City's Approved Tester List. On most all of the lists, we are listed as CHARLOTTE BACKFLOW / REITZEL IRRIGATION (or some slight abbreviation to Irr.). Charlotte Backflow is the name we use when servicing our commercial backflow only customers. Reitzel Irrigation still provides the same backflow services we have for years with no change to our current irrigation customers.
Please note, we will leave the device exactly as we found it. It is is winterized, we will winterize it back down, if it is pressurized, we will not winterize it.

- Backflow Tests are NOT subject to Sales Taxes charged on repair and maintenance services. However repair labor and materials are subject to sales tax and will be invoiced accordingly.
- Kannapolis, Union County, Aqua NC & Harrisburg Water Customers- ADD $15.00 to all prices. This is due to a new fee being assessed on all backflow tests (the fee is PER TEST) by their provider, BSI Online.

We are able to test backflow prevention assemblies in the following (but not limited to) municipalities:

- Union County Public Works-A $15 fee is added onto all test prices due to a fee being charge for each test submitted
- Town of Harrisburg Water-A $15 fee is added onto all test prices due to a fee being charge for each test submitted
- Kannapolis City Water-A $15 fee is added onto all test prices due to a fee being charge for each test submitted

IMPORTANT: If you have Charlotte Water, and would like to receive a copy of the test report, please note that in the comments when you place your request. We now file tests electronically with Charlotte and if you want a copy your valid email must be entered at the time the test is submitted to receive a copy. Once submitted we cannot provide you a copy.
